About Culture and Innovation
Italy, the Culture and Innovation in Italyand a world crossroads for more than 2,000 years, has given rise to numerous cultural traditions that have influenced virtually all areas of contemporary life. From the Romanesque architecture of the late-14th and early-16th centuries to the rebirth of painting with the Renaissance, from the foundations of modern science and its quantitative experiments led by Galileo to the metaphysical paintings of Giorgio de Chirico, Italy is considered to be one of the most culturally influential countries in Europe.

The country has also been the origin of a wide range of music, including the Renaissance musical style bel canto; Impressionism and Realism in painting; and the great vocal tradition of 19th century European opera known as bel canto. Italy also re-established its role as a major player in the artistic evolution of the 20th century with Futurism and its followers, including Umberto Boccioni and Giuseppe Bezzuoli.
